In the kitchen: We are delighted to welcome our new Head Chef to Home Farm. Jeremy Woollven has many years experience in the kitchen, and is used to preparing food of a two rosette standard. We feel excited to have him on board, as he shares our ideals of creating dishes based on the fantastic produce grown in this part of the country. Here are a few samples to whet the appetite… Vulscombe goats cheese terrine, slow roasted belly pork and panacotta with poached rhubarb, oh and did I mention that the home-made ice-creams and sorbets are simply delicious – not to be missed! The other piece of ’food- news’ will appeal to those of you who want to stay in but have an empty fridge! We are launching a Take Away menu – available Tuesday to Sunday and featuring favourites such as fish and chips. Please see our website or contact us for more information on menus, seasonal offers on two and three course meals and opening times.
In the garden: As summer is approaching (we hope), we have been working hard clearing and planting. We now have a tranquil space – with plenty of ‘sunny spots’ or shadier areas for guests to enjoy an afternoon or cream tea.
In the function room: Fancy an evening of film, food and friends? We are keen to start a once monthly Wilmington Film Club in the spirit of a cultural and social event. We feel that this would be a great way to connect with each other. Please contact us if you would be interested in becoming a part of this.
